Chinese New Year Celebrations!
Reception - Centipede
Our Reception class created the centipede from the Chinese story 'The Rooster's Lament'. They mixed the colour brown all by themselves and created a pattern in the paint which they printed onto their paper. They then cut their patterns out themselves and put them all together to create the centipedes body. They then added its head and 100 legs!

Class 1 - Chinese Dancing
Class 1 put on a wonderful performance of traditional Chinese dancing, and sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in Chinese to the whole school!
Class 2 - Chinese Dragon
Class 2 looked at Chinese Dragons. They all made their own small ones, and then worked together to make a giant one!



Class 3 - Chinese Lanterns
Class 3 all made their own Chinese lanterns. They cut them out, decorated them in glitter and wrote in Chinese on them, then displayed them in the hall.
Class 4 - Chinese Writing
Class 4 studied chinese writing and then wrote their names beautifully, carefully immitating the Chinese style.


Class 5 - Chinese Plates
Class 5 designed and decorated plates in Chinese styles, and wrote on them in Chinese. They also practiced writing in the Chinese language.
Class 6 - Presentation
Class 6 researched the Chinese New Year and Chinese traditions, and put together a very professional powerpoint presentation full of interesting facts and information. They then presented their work to the school.


Class 6 - Chinese Plates
Aiesha Ali, Leo Lever, Abbie Swaine, Aaminah Patel and William Martin all worked hard in their own free time to create some beautiful Chinese plates, with they decorated in Chinese writing and patterns.
