Welcome to our Fantastic Nursery!

nursry 1nursery 3nursery 2nursery 4

Our topic for this half term is Growth.

We will be listening to the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and watching the beanstalk growing in Nursery!

We will have lots of fun playing in the Giant’s house and pretending to be the giant.

We will be going for a walk to look at all the things growing around us outside and we will be visiting the Garden Centre at Batley Mill Village.  We will also have plants to observe both inside and outside and will be watching beans grow.

At Easter we will be talking about eggs and chicks and we will also be visiting our friends at Linson Court Nursing Home to share Easter activities.

We will be drawing pictures about the story Jack and the Beanstalk and making marks on paper. We will also continue to practise recognising and writing our names and holding our pencils correctly.

In Phonics this half term we will continue to learn our letter sounds.

Reading and Library

Please continue to read library books with your children and sign the orange book to say you have read together.  This will ensure your child moves up the Reading Rocket and hopefully reaches the top. We are getting lovely comments from some parents about the books their child has borrowed so please keep up the good work!

We will continue to change library books on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Please encourage your child to take care of their book and keep it in a safe place.

We are really enjoying our PE sessions with Nathan every Monday and we are trying very hard to get undressed and dressed by ourselves. Please send black shorts and a white T shirt in a bag and please name all items of clothing to avoid any mix up!

Baking Money for this half term will be £3.00.  Your child will have the opportunity to bake every week and we will be making exciting things such as Cheese Straw Ladders, Police Car Biscuits, Fruit Salad and many more.

The Great British Bake Off here we come again!!!!!

Once again we will be doing lots of counting and number recognition.  We will be counting leaves, beans and flowers and singing lots of number rhymes.  We will also be comparing different heights and thinking about positional language.

Snack area

Every day children will have a carton of milk and a piece of fruit. We will be encouraging the children to try new things and also be talking about heathy eating.
